The Worst Poker Games

When I started playing in home games in the ‘50s, basic poker was 5-card draw and 5 or 7-card stud.  NLH, now the most popular game, started to gain a bit of traction in the ‘70s but in 2003, the Moneymaker effect happened and NLH play exploded. However, along the line, some truly horrible variations developed.

Here is my list of the top worst poker games, ranked in order.

  1. Anaconda
  2. 7 – 27
  3. Any game with a wild card
  4. Dime Store and/or Baseball (a tie)
  5. Iron Cross
